Some things to think about....

  Today I think I will just toss some random thoughts out there to get your grey matter working... that's your brains...
  I'm pretty sure most of you who don't drive trucks, hate getting stuck behind us on the highway or in town... so slow to get going and taking big wide turns ... stopping in weird places and trying to block the whole road to back in to places ... very inconvenient... We think so too...
   Whats funny to us is when some of you pass  us on the right, never a good idea by the way.... its called our blind side for a reason... my favourite is when you pass us get in front then come to a dead stop and make a left hand turn...
     Some basic info for you on what exactly I am driving... The truck I drive is approximately 82 feet long from front bumper to back... it has 32 wheels on the ground and weighs in at approximately 42 thousand pounds...empty... 138 thousand pounds when loaded.... a full load of gasoline is roughly 57 thousand litres.... Diesel is 49 thousand...because its heavier...

No this isn't my truck, its the same size and shape...just shinier... i wish mine looked that nice...

And for you smokers out there... I know its reasonably safe hauling this bomb around otherwise I wouldn't do it...but let me ask you....when you pass me on the highway and flick your cigarette out the window at this thing...do you even realize the how big of a hole that would make... the chances are slim to none...but still... what are you thinking?

And to be fair... any of you that have what you think are silly or stupid questions...There is no such thing as a stupid question....only stupid answers..... So ask anything... If I don't know.... I will get the answer for you... Yes.... shockingly I just admitted to not knowing everything....

   So the next time you are pulling into your favourite gas station and you see one of us... just remember ... We aren't happy about trying to get in there with that thing either... but its the job, so unless your going to forgo your car for a horse and buggy.... give us some consideration before you just whip into the pumps and park in the way...
   I don't get paid by the hour... so if i have to wait for people to move... I get cranky... Especially when the AC in my easy bake oven doesn't work at plus 30 Celsius... just saying.... please look around when you are driving... Thank you...

The start , at the middle... is this Star Wars or something?

  I have been joking around about writing a book... about my life so far... most of the time I think, who the hell in their right mind would want to read that.  I don't have a clue, but I did read an interesting statement by an author, who I cannot remember at this time... That the most important part of publishing a book... is to first write the book.
       Hunh.... stellar advice... sounds easy.  Well I decided that thanks to my cousins blog... Maybe a way to test my writing skills and as well as whether or not anyone will read what I write... I will attempt a blog...


  If your looking at this and thinking, well I'm not a truck driver so I won't relate or understand... You'd be wrong. I would hope that more of the people I know who aren't truck drivers, to maybe read a bit because it may just give you some insights as to what its like out there for the guys and gals who drive more miles in reverse, than you might forward in the run of a year... (give that some thought)....


I will talk about life as a truck driver, because its what I do and have done for the last 8 years... with a splash of other stuff in the mix... but its not all I plan to talk about... in fact... it may be the least of what I talk about some days...

That is the truck that I drove and lived in for a couple of years up in the Northwest Territories... This picture is of the south side of the river at Fort Providence on the way back from Yellowknife.  You have to drive across the ice on the river to get over during winter months and there is a small ferry that runs back and forth during the summer... in the spring... neither.

I work for a different company now and am back in New Brunswick ... Home as it were... 

This is just a short bit to get the idea...


   Whats the other stuff you ask? Well I guess youll have to tune in once in a while to see what I have to say... I will leave the comments open to you .... and readily welcome anything you have to say....and will of course delete the things I dont like...
